River Rock Butterfly

Good Morning!! Hope everyone had a good weekend? Our was fabulous, the weather was so warm and balmy for our neck of the woods, it's such a nice change from the frigid deep freeze we endured :)  We took the Schnauzers on several long walks and really enjoyed the sunshine.  I think they did too!

Today I have a pretty Butterfly card to share.  The inspiration for this card comes from the latest Stamp It! Magazine, page 35.  I loved the layout of this card, and thought the button detail was really cool. We photographed this on black, which looks great but unfortunately doesn't show the base of the card very well, which is black.

The details for this card are: Black and River Rock cardstocks, retired dsp in River Rock polka dot, sewing machine, Big Shot butterfly dies, linen thread and jute, Thank you from Level One Hostess Set Because I Care (just love that font!!) and the Sizzlet Button die from SU!.  The butterflies are popped up on dimensionals, but its hard to tell in this photo.

Thank you for dropping by and hope your Monday is a good one!!

Happy First Day of Summer!!

Good Morning! and Happy Summer Solstice!!! It actually feels like summer lately, something I'm so thankful for.  We haven't had the nicest, warmest spring so I'm truly enjoying this rash of heat and beautiful sunshine this past while.

In honour of Summer Solstice (not really, it just kind of worked out this way, but hey we'll go with it, right? :) I've created a card using the Island Floral dsp and the Island Floral die for the Big Shot. I love this whole combination, but then I love anything that uses the Big Shot.  My favourite stamping toy ever!  Even my husband thinks its kind of neat and he really doesn't take much interest in my stamping or supplies.  He's a detailed, black and white kind of guy and I'm a creative, not follow the directions and back track later kind of gal so we're perfect for each other!! Although I think he's surprising himself with his creative detail in photography, so I guess we all learn as we go. I don't think I'll ever have his gift for detail though, (its too boring!! haha!)
Thanks for dropping by and have a great Monday!!

Cardstock: Island Oasis, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White
Accessories: Island Floral Die, brad from my stash, circle punches, scalloped punch, Tempting Turquoise grosgrain, Word Window Punch, Swiss Dots embossing folder

Butterfly Thank Yous

Good Morning!! I have a Butterfly Card to share today. This card uses the same scrap Ginger Blossom (retired)dsp as yesterday's along with Very Vanilla & Ruby Red cardstocks.  I used Oval All for the sentiment, punched out with my oval punches, scalloped the edges of the designer paper border, ran a Butterfly die through the Big Shot and embossed it, then sanded the embossed area.  I also used the Swirl die from SU! for a little added interest.   The button in the center really does match the Groovy Guava in the dsp, somehow it looks more orange in this picture, but trust me, it really does coordinate!! :)

I hope you have a great weekend, its still pretty gloomy here but rain is good right?? The flowers, grass & trees will love it!!

Thanks for dropping by!

Vintage Vogue finally breaks out of the package!!

Good Afternoon! Well, today was a gloomy day in Alberta, looks like we are in for more Duck Weather, but I have to admit that's probably not a terrible thing as our land is SO dry.  :)

Today's share uses very old Ginger Blossom Designer Paper and Ruby Red cardstock, which is soon to be retired.  I will miss alot of these retiring colours but am very excited about the Colour Renovation.  SU! has put alot of research into this Colour Renovation and I think they've done a great job reorganizing all the cardstocks into new families.  I can hardly wait for the new catty as well!!!  Ahem* , no I'm not addicted to any such craft, I just really enjoy collecting my supplies :)

This card is pretty simple in that I used leftover designer paper scraps, Ruby Red, Regal Rose & Very Vanilla cardstocks, nesties, the SAB set Whimsical Words (don't you just love this font!!) the SU! Swirl die, Big Shot and the oval punches.  I also used Peach Flower Soft to fill in the centres of the flowers, although I'm not sure how well you can see it in the photo.

And....this is the first time I've inked up my Vintage Vogue set!! Yup, I've owned it for about a month now but finally got around to using it! I really like the new Unmounted Stamps from SU! as well, they worked great!

Well, enough chitter chatter here, my buzzer is ringing to put the homemade buns in the oven (haha, Susie Homemaker today!!) and give the soup a stir.  I think we may go to the new Shrek Movie tonight, I'm soooo excited, I just love Puss 'N Boots!!

Have a great evening and thanks for dropping  by, I so appreciate it!! :)

Fifth Avenue Floral

Good Morning! Today's card share uses my favourite floral stamp, Fifth Avenue Floral. I really love the line drawn images in this set, there's so much room for creativitiy!! I embossed the largest flower with white embossing powder onto Shimmery White cardstock.  Then I spritzed with water and dropped a selection of reinkers into the pools of water, allowing them to travel where they wanted and fill in the spaces. It was alot of fun, especially if you are the type of person who enjoys dabbling in the artsy side of stamping!! I did a whole page of these flowers, all different colours! Was a great way to spend an afternoon :-)

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Fifth Avenue Floral, Sketch It (long retired but I still love the sentiments in this set!)
Cardstock: Orchid Opulence (soon to retired!), Certainly Celery, Shimmer White, Whisper White
Ink: Orchid, and various other purple hued colours, Basic Black
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Versamark, Floral embossing folder, chalks to colour the folder, sewing machine, Leaf Sizzlit, Dazzling Diamonds, half back pearls

Thanks for dropping by and hope your Wednesday is fabulous!!

Snowman Thank You's.

Hi there! Today I have a cute snowman card to share, another one of my "Thank you" cards from Christmas.  I *LOVE* the colour combination here! I can't remember my inspiration for this colour, must have been a magazine.

This card was created with Close to Cocoa, Blush Blossom, Whisper White.  I used Teeny Tiny Wish for the sentiment along with the darling Level 2 snowman stamp from the last Holiday mini for my image, I just think this little guy is so cute!! Added some Dazzling Diamonds to the image along with Certainly Celery glitter (a girl can never have enough glitter in her life!), Kraft Ribbon, Filigree Brads (small) the Eyelet border punch, Oval Punches, nestabilities for the image, Snowflake embossing folder, tiny snowflake punch from my "collection" and bling from my stash.

Hope all is well with everyone and that Winter is giving you lots of indoor stamping time!! :-)

Upsy Daisy Thank You

Good Morning! Today's share is yet another one of my Christmas thank you cards. I wanted fairly simple, flat & easy to mail cards and I think this one fits that description. At least I'm hoping so, guess I'll find out at the Post Office!
I used Ruby Red, Whisper White and Basic Gray for my cardstocks, along with the Ruby Red DSP Hostess Level One pack, Ruby Red Ink for the daisies and Basic Grey for the sentiment. Two Oval punches frame the sentiment and the eyelet border punch adds a bit of texture. This card would also look great with a brad or two, but as I mentioned I'm trying to keep it down to a fairly flat, easy to mail card.
Thank you for dropping by and happy stamping!!!

Branch Out Thank You

Hi there! Hope things are going well in your corner of the world? We are still experiencing some cool weather, with a bit of snow here and there, it definitely feels like January! I love Winter though, so as long as the roads are clear or I don't have to go anywhere, well I'm happy with the season!!
Speaking of Winter, today's share uses the now retired Branch Out stamp set from SU!. I really enjoy this set and love how one can change the leaf colour with the seasons, or even add a few snowflakes to the background.
I used Bordering Blue, Kraft Designer Paper (this was a SU! Hostess Set last season) & Whisper White. Serene Snowflakes stamps were used to randomly stamp a background on the B. Blue cardstock; the ink pad was then swiped along the edges to give the card some depth.
I inked up the tree with Chocolate Chip craft ink and hit with the embossing gun to dry it. The snowflakes were stamped in Whisper White craft and snow was drifted finely in along the bottom of the tree and swiped along the edges of the Kraft cardstock. "Just For You" from Only Ovals was stamped on W. White and matted with a Bordering Blue scalloped oval punch.
Thanks for dropping by!!!

Loving the Big Shot!!

Hi there! Today's share uses the marvelous Big Shot for several elements of this card. I do have to say, the Big Shot is truly one of the most wonderful craft purchases I've ever made. I can hardly wait to use it with fabric, I have a list a mile long for Big Shot dies!!!
This card was created using Rich Razzleberry & Melon Mambo cardstocks ( Part of the In colour Family) along with Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White and Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. The flowers were cut with the Blossom Party Die, the Top Note die was used for the side piece. Sentiment Thank You is from Teeny Tiny Wishes, punched out with the oval punches. Gold brads, the Photo Corner Punch, Razzleberry Grosgrain ribbon and Rose Red glitter embellished the card. I do have to say, there's nothing like a little (or a lot!) of glitter added to a card, it really makes it pop!! The glitter on this card looks so awesome in real life. :-)
Thanks for dropping by and see you in the New Year!!!

Flamingo For You :-)

Hi there! Today's card is one for my Thank You Card/Birthday Card stash.
I finally ordered the Movers & Shakers die, what a wonderful wonderful addition to my Big Shot!! This die will cut & score your cardstock into complete a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card as well as cutting a shape into your card front! I just love it. It comes with the Curly Label die and cuts the label into the card just a tad larger than the actual punched Curly Label. You can then punch an image with the Curly Label punch and mat it inside the card, and it protrudes through the "window".

I wanted to also try cutting a few flowers out of felt, using the Big Shot, Wow, they cut with such ease! These flowers are from the Blossom Party die.
Thanks so much for dropping by & have a great day!

Occasions Mini Rocks!!!

Hi there Blogger Friends! Good Saturday Morning to you! Hope this post finds you well & happy!
I've got a cute little card to share today, using the Wagon Full of Fun stamp set out of the new Occasions Mini. I really debated on this set, finally decided to buy it, and I have to say its absolutely one of my most favourites. I love all the images & especially the sentiments that come with it. On this card I've used the little flower in a pot, and the new flower nestabilities. I tell you, those nesties are really addictive. :-)
In the center of this flower is a product called Flower Soft. My wonderful friend Melody brought it back for me, all the way from Europe. Now, isn't that a true stamping friend?? Gotta love that!! :-) Thanks Melody, you're the best!!
Recipe:
Stamp Set: Wagon Full of Fun (sentiment used inside)
Cardstock: Ruby Red, Baja Blue, So Saffron, W. White, Sweet Slumber Speciatly
Accesories: Markers to colour in flower, glue, Flower Soft, So Saffron Brads, Flower Nestie

Hawaiian Bear Thank You!

Hi there Blogger Friends! I've got a really cute card for you today! I received this from my cousin Karen and just had to post it. Karen was recently in Hawaii at the Stampin' Up! gathering and brought us all back some Macadamia nuts as well as a few other small items. She shared with us her experience on the island of Hawaii and the wonderful week spent with the Stampin' Up! group. It sounded like a wonderful experience for everyone, and as usual, SU! treats the ladies like queens. Way to go Karen, she deserves this trip each year, she works very hard at what she does. :-)
This card uses:
Stamp Set: Under the Stars
Cardstock: Whisper White, Old Olive, Brown DSP
Accessories: Scissors to fringe the girl bear's skirt and buttons for her "coconut coverup" :-)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday!! :-)

School Days!

Hi there Blogger Friends! I've posted a swap card I received from my wonderful cousin Linda. Isn't it cute? She's just used simple foolscap paper for this background. (Isn't that a weird word, "foolscap"? I actually had to google it for spelling as it just didn't seem right!!)
The side was punched with the Spiral punch to give the background paper some interest & texture. To get the red colour on this black background, she's used chalk on the apples, after they were stamped with versamark. The apples are from Tart & Tangy set. To finish it off, she used black gingham ribbon on the top corner, still one of my favourite ribbons in the catalogue.

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Raspberry Tart Thank You

Hi there Blogger Friends; Well, it seems my email has corrected itself, thank goodness!! I wanted to get the SU! Early Release promo out to my customers and for some reason it just wasn't wanting to send. Finally, through patience and more patience, I outwaited it and the email finally sent. And we thought computers were supposed to make our lives simpler... :-)
I've created a pretty little card using the designer series paper Raspberry Tart. I think this is my all time favourite designer paper yet. Such gorgeous, yummy, warm colours!! I also created the flower our of the same designer paper, and used a Kiwi Button for the centre.
If you check your SU! SAB brochure, you will find directions in there. I cut my paper at 1 1/2 inches x 12 inches, scored every 1/4 inch, mountain fold on scores (like an accordian fold) and then adhere the ends together. When pulled into a circle, it creates a 3 inch flower.
I'll also try to provide the link I found from another crafter's blog for you to reference. (I have to remember which blog it was first, though!)
Have a great day & thanks for stopping by

Bloomin Raspberry Blossoms!

Hi there! I've uploaded another card created with the Raspberry Tart designer paper and Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set. This set is so versatile, and works perfectly with alot of our SU! designer papers. This particular paper is quite elegant, and the Bloomin' set is a perfect compliment for it.
Hope you find some time to stamp today (and tomorrow) and stay safe and warm, its really been quite wintery out there lately! :-)

Thank You Card!

Hi there Blogger Friends! This is a thank you card that I created with a new set from the Spring & Summer SU! catalogue. As demos we are allowed to preorder select stamp sets in order to make swaps and samples for our customers. This is called Petal Pizzaz and the designer paper is Raspberry Tart. Isn't it just yummy!! I love the colour combination: Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Kiwi Kiss. Paired with Basic Black and Whisper White, this designer paper really pops. I used a Filigree brad for the centre, and a bling rhinestone.
The thank you is for my friend Beth. (Bigskypaperandesign - see sidebar). She gave me a bag full of wonderful gifts for Christmas, including some things she picked up while in Europe a few months back! I was so spoiled this Christmas!! I especially loved the little change purse from Italy, I'll post it one day soon, its the most gorgeous green colour.
Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
