Happy Halloween!! (Early!)

Hey Everyone! Happy Early Halloween! I saw this card on Michelle Zindorf's blog, and absolutely had to try it. For those of you who know me realize that I'm not happy stamping unless my fingers get all inky and I can "dabble". Nothing is more satisfying than creating with colour!

This card uses Whisper White cardstock, So Saffron, Soft Sky and Not Quite Navy. I used the same inks as listed above, adding in Cool Caribbean as well. I stamped the witch with versamark and embossed with black, of course swiffering the surface with my emobossing buddy first. I stamped the trees at the bottom with Basic Black, and then again (after cleaning!) with Whisper White. The shades were all created using sponges and getting your fingers dirty! Was so much fun, thanks for checking in today. Now I'm off to create my swaps for the Regionals coming up this weekend! Wish me luck, I have to make lots!! :-)

Four for Four!!

Good Afternoon! This is the fourth of my Scarecrow cards, and I really liked the colour combination, very Autumn like. :-) I wish now I had used my Nestabilities and added a scalloped border to this card, its a little too straightlined, but still pretty.

I'm probably giving all these cards away this weekend, since its our Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday. We are celebrating with friends on Saturday, and will be having turkey with our oldest son next weekend when he arrives home from his out of town work. How about you?

Three of Four Scarecrows

Hello yet again! I'm posting the third of four cards I made with this set. I've enjoyed colouring this little guy so much! I've used Kraft cardstock, along with Basic Black, Watercolour paper, and Bella Rose designer paper, Kraft taffetta ribbon and hemp twine.

Another Happy Scarecrow!

Hi there Blogger Friends!

I had a great time colouring the Happy Scarecrow! I used some retired designer paper from last season, as well as River Rock cardstock. I'm sooo very happy I bought myself an extra package of that particular colour, its one of the most versatile, prettiest "neutral" cardstocks I've ever used.

The Scarecrow's overalls were coloured in with Really Rust, and after they dried, I took some Summer Sun and painted it in where there should be some highlights. I really liked the warm colour it created.

I did two other Scarecrows yesterday, I just have to create the cards for them now. I'm hoping to get time tomorrow to work with the other two stamp sets I purchased from the mini. But, I will have chores to do, and unfortunately, the dust bunnies don't care if you're stamping or not, they just want to appear!

New Stamps!!! :-) Hurray!

Hello there!! I finally was able to get some "me" time and got busy using some of my brand new SU! supplies. Wow, do I ever love this scarecrow from Happy Blessings, found in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini. He was so much fun to watercolour!!!! For a change, I used my proper artist brushes instead of my aqua painter. I still have to get used to how they work on the watercolour paper, but I really enjoyed this technique. I still have some learning to do with the watercolouring, but its coming. I enjoy every minute that I watercolour, its so relaxing and rewarding, regardless of how things turn out. You always know there's more paper at the end of the table, and some ink to stamp with, if you need to ever do anything over again. Just no worries!! I love it.

So Melody, get out those paint brushes that have been collecting some dust since you've started with this new addiction, um, I mean hobby, and give them a try with markers, ink pads and watercolour paper. You're sure to love it. :-) And they would transport ever so easily to Mexico. One could even paint in the shade beside the pool......

SC193 Splitcoast Challenge!

Hi there! This is for today's Splitcoast Challenge. Wednesdays is Card Sketches. The moderators post a card sketch and you create your interpretation of it, its really alot of fun! If you check Beth's blog out (see side bar) alot of her cards are Splitcoast Challenges, she loves doing them because they give her a jumping off point on what to create. (she has the challenge number in her card information, so you could check those out too) Its fun to see everyone's version of the sketch!! Be sure to check them out on SCS. Just go to Gallery. At the top, type in SC193 and voila, you will be transported to the gallery for this particular challenge. If you go to the Forums, scroll down to Splitcoast Challenges, click on and it will show you a different challenge for each day of the week. I hope this helps!! Autumn Cards Already?

This is a cute layout posted on SCS the other day. Its one of the SCS Challenges, I'll add more details later. I've still be having alot of issues with the computer, I think our connection is in dire need of repair, wow! is it slow. Plus my emails are pouring in 500 at a time, and they are all repeats from the last year. So if I am not around for a few more days, that's why!!
