Hello Again!!

Well, hello everyone, I'm back from a stamping hiatus!! Not by choice though, the flu bug found me and took over just about everything in my life! I don't usually get the flu, if anything I get a mild cold and then I'm done. Humph, not this Spring. Its taken me 3 weeks to get over being sick, I finally felt close to normal on Monday, so here's hoping this cough finally disappears and I'll be back to my old energenic self in no time. 

We are beginning to enjoy Spring here in Alberta. The weather's been fantastic lately, the snow is mostly gone and I keep looking within the rocks and grass, waiting for the first few plants to start poking through. What better time than the present to make a Spring like card? :)
Today's card share uses the beautiful (almost retired!!) Sprintime Vintage dsp, along with Rose Red and Very Vanilla cardstocks. The leaves were stamped with the Build a Blossom stamp set, then punched with the Blossom Petals Punch.  The "ribbon" along the bottom was punched with the Ribbon Punch.  I used "Oval All" for the sentiment, along with the oval punches.  I just love the large Rose Red  button in the center of the flower, I do think I'll be hoarding these buttons, they are SO pretty!

A First at Build a Blossom

Good Morning! Today I have a springy/summery card to share, one that gives us hope that soon we will be seeing flowers and pretty colours in our landscapes, instead of the grey and brown melting snow out there!!

I've used the Build a Blossom for this new stamp set, along with the coordinating punch. Love this combination!!! What a fun stamp set, and the punch is really versatile, the leaves are perfect for all kinds of flowers, not just the ones created with this stamp set. The sentiment is from So Happy for You, a SAB set.

The details of the card are pretty simple: Whisper White, Razzleberry and Melon Mambo cardstocks, Melon Mambo ink, large dots embossing folder, Eyelet border punch, bling and button from my stash.  I am still using up old designer paper, this one is Razzleberry Lemonade.

Punched Valentines

Good Morning Everyone!!  We received quite a bit of snow here on the weekend and are still working on digging out!! We've shovelled the drive and sidewalks several times now, it just doesn't seem to want to go away.  Yesterday afternoon the sun finally decided to shine, so with luck we'll see some more of that.  I don't mind the cold at all, nor do I mind the snow, but I sure don't like gloomy days! Gotta have my sunshine. :)

Today's Valentine is very simple yet quite eye catching.  I had the circles and hearts laying on my desk from another card sketch, and thought I'd try a modern, simple card. I love how it turned out, and thought the button in the middle was a good match to the Pretty In Pink. This could also be a "guy" card I think (minus the pink button though!!).  You could even change the hearts to black and white or blue and white if you wanted.

Birdy Thank You

Hi There! Today's card share is a Thank You card.  The inspiration for this card came from a swap I received  from Jan Nielsen, my favourite SU! demo from Camrose!!  Its very quick and easy to create this card with punches and the big shot.  I'm always amazed at how far we stampers have come in the last 4 years, the accessories available now are limitless.   I remember it being a big deal when we added a brad and ribbon, now we can create even more gorgeous cards with such ease, one crank of the Big Shot and voila!! a beautiful card with texture and plenty of layers.

Good Afternoon!
Today's card share is a cute girly card, created mostly with the Big Shot and Punches.  There are plenty of samples of this card on the web and SCS, this is my version of it. It was such a fun card to make, and really quite quick and easy.

I've used Basic Black and Whisper White cardstocks,  along with various designer papers for the card.  The dsp for the dress is from a retired paper pack, the purse dsp is from the Night & Day series, also retired but available for download on the My Digital Studio. 

Accessories:
Circle and Scalloped Circle Punches, Large and Small Oval punches,Tab Punch, Large Scalloped Circle Die, SU! Floral Embossing Folder, Silver Brad, Silver Cording, Hodgepodge Hardware, White Taffeta Ribbon.

Sweetheart Treat Cups

Hi there! I've really enjoyed using the Sweetheart Stamp set along with the Heart Shaped Treat cups, these are so darned cute!!!  I would have loved to have these stamps and accessories when my kids were little, all the fun things I could have made for birthday parties, goodie bags & holidays!  Guess I'll have to wait for Grandchildren!! :)

This card features the Sweetheart Stamp set along with the Sweet Treat Cups.  I used Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Old Olive Cardstocks, stamping the main image on Whisper White. The Sweet Treats sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Accessories used are the Scalloped Edge and Tab punch along with the 1/2 inch circle punch. The tab is actually a piece of cardstock that hold the treats in, allowing the recipient access from the inside of the card, so that they don't have to destroy anything to get to the goodies!!  See this marvelous video here for instructions on how to do this.  Thanks for the inspiration Dawn!! :)

Pinwheel Fun!

Hi there! Today's card share is the last of my workshop creations.  I absolutely love these pinwheel cards, they are very showy and SO easy to do.  Darlene McCallum has great instructions here: http://dreamingaboutrubberstamps.com/?p=2871  Great for masculine or feminine cards.

This card uses Crushed Curry, Whisper White, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, 1 1/4 inch square punch and Crushed Curry polka dot grosgrain.  This Crushed Curry is so pretty with the Melon Mambo, so summery and warm. I also used the Lattice Embossing Folder. Anyone notice that I kind of like this folder?!! :)

Nouveau Chic meets Bird Punch!

Good Morning!  I hope everyone had a great weekend! Our weather was fantastic ~ sunny and warm, a bit breezey, definitely flip flop and shorts weather!!

Today's card share is one we did at my latest workshop ~ don't you just love this bird punch??? I think its so versatile, as it suits both masculine and feminine cards.  Also, this Lattice Embossing Folder is the BEST one yet!! It creates the most wonderful texture, really working the cardstock when it embosses, making it very detailed.  Another folder that could be used on just about any type of occasion card.

Details:
Stamp Set: None!! The punches and designer paper do all the work for me!! I'll add a sentiment inside though.
Cardstock:  The soon to be retired Soft Sage, Very Vanilla, Basic Grey and Nouveau Chic dsp
Ink: none
Accessories:  Big Shot, Lattice Embossing folder, Circle die, Scalloped Border Punch, Two Step Bird Punch, dots embossing folder, silver brads, 2 way glue pen.

Spring Blossoms Galore!

Good Morning! Its a cloudy, kind of drab day here in Alberta today. A good day to finish up a bit of laundry, do some vacuuming and then Stamp & Sew!!!! I have been dividing my time between stamping & sewing, enjoying both equally. I've got a really cute Market bag that I'll be posting soon to my other blog, be sure to check it out!

Today my stamping post uses the wonderful Branch Out stamp set. Wow!!! Do I ever enjoy using this set, its so fun and feels so creative. I've stamped this image with Spring Blossoms but also had some fun stamping it with Autumn colours, various Greens for a Summer Card and I did some Winter images as well. Its such a gorgeous image and I have even more ideas I want to try out just using the bare tree image. Stay tuned! I used Stampin' Pretty's card for my inspiration. I love Mary's style in card creating, its always so fresh! Does that make any sense? :-) Be sure to check out her blog, its wonderful. My computer won't let me set up a link here, its being quite fussy lately, so please check out her link on the side bar, and her card is a May contribution.

Another Great Friend!

Good Morning! Its a beautiful day out there today, much nicer than yesterday's weather!! Gale force winds & snow flurries just aren't my idea of a Spring Day. Yuck!! Much prefer the sunshine and warmer temps! :-)

The card I'm sharing today is from my Stampin' Up! meeting from the weekend. Dar is my upline's upline, and holds a wonderful meeting bi-monthly, filled with great business building ideas and of course we get to stamp!! Dar has wonderful samples for us to create that are quick, easy & always pretty! This card makes full use of embellishments & a punch, as well as designer paper. Don't you think this would be a fabulous Christmas card? Talk about quick & easy, cut your cardstock, punch, stamp a sentiment, tie ribbon through grommet & attach, and voila! you are done. If you are looking at doing 10 or more Christmas cards this is a great layout to try.

Fun with Punches!

Hi Blogger Friends. I know, I know...3 posts (actually 4 pictures) in one day! Wow, you are saying. She's on a roll. :-)

This is another cool punch card. I've used the Photo Corner punch for the tree, the small square punch for the trunk, and the slit punch for the sides of the card. Now all I need is a star punch, and I'm off the races!! Guess what's on my next order? I love this card, even without the star, I think its really interesting, and its a snap to make. (guess what we're doing at the next workshop girls?!!)

Cute Purse Gift Holder!~

Good Morning Friends!! Yesterday we were treated to a demo of the Faux Alligator or Faux Leather technique. For those of you in my Stamping Club you will remember that we did this a couple months back, it should be in your binder! :-)

I've created the cutest little gift card holder and used this technique on my "purse". Isn't it just the cutest?? We were watching the demo, and my friend Beth commented that it would look great with R. Riding Hood Red. And I was thinking it would look great with pink! I think this is the perfect "girly" gift holder, don't you?

I'm looking forward to seeing Beth's creation, so we'll have to keep an eye on her blog (see right links, BigSky!). Have a great day. (oh, and this little purse will be featured in my upcoming gifts & tags class. Will keep you posted!)
