Candle with Designer Paper & Rosette from Table Setting Die

Good Evening! Well, the countdown is surely on now, Christmas is just days away and I'm hoping to have everything ready by Thursday. We are having a party on Christmas Eve and I'm baking everyone a gingerbread house to decorate!! Its really going to be alot of fun, I can hardly wait. The Gingerbread houses aren't huge, but I do have 10 to make, so wish me luck. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no gingerbread breakage!! :)

Today's share is a decorated candle holder, a little something I made for a Christmas gift. Its a beautiful vanilla scented candle, complete with its own richly covered box. You can see in the picture below, its a fair sized candle.

 I added a bit of designer paper around the candle, along with some chocolate chip satin ribbon, a felt snowflake, a pearl pin from the Pretties kit and, yes again, another beautiful rose from  the Table Setting die. I just love this die, so many possibilities!! I'm hoping to have time to make placecards for our gingerbread party along with napkin rings and rosettes for our turkey dinner, time will be the only thing in my way :)

Last of the Covered Lindt Bars!

Good morning! These are the last 2 of the covered Lindt bars we made this past week. We used retired DSP, some Blue Bayou & Kiwi Kiss cardstock along with Whisper White and Very Vanilla for the images. The gorgeous Chocolate Chip ribbon is from SU! and so easy to tie, it has the most wonderful grain to it and makes lovely bows. This ribbon is perfect for those masculine gifts and cards, doesn't look to frilly. :-)

More Chocolate Goodies!

Good Morning! So, are you getting closer to being "ready" for Christmas? Or are you one of those people who've been ready since November?? :-) I'm one of those people who "think" I'm ready and then panic about a week before, thinking perhaps I didn't get the right gift or enough gifts. Really, one gift each should truly be enough for each of us, but there's always a sale and well, you know how it goes...Somehow we end up with several gifts each.

Today's share is another dsp covered Lindt chocolate bar. For this one, I used *shock* current designer paper from the Christmas Cocoa collection. :-) The stamp is from the Hostess Level 2 Christmas Punch set, the ribbon is SU! grosgrain and the little red & gold bell is from my Stamping Buddy Melody, who is always kind enough to share her latest finds from the dollar stores. Thanks Mel!! :-)

I hope these inspire you to pick up a few of these chocolate bars and cover them for small gifts. They make great High School teacher gifts, something perfect for the Mail or Newspaper Delivery person, or the kids' bus driver. Just a little somethin'...... :-)

Chocolate Teddy Bears!

Good Morning! Today's share is a simple, easy Christmas goodie gift. I've covered a Lindt chocolate bar with a partial sheet of retired SU! designer paper, tied it up with the marvelous Old Olive wide striped grosgrain and added a cute little stamped Teddy Bear image with a "for you" at the top. The image is a very old SU! and I cannot find it in my stamp room right now to give you the name. Its probably under something; when I locate it, I'll update this post!! :-)

To measure dsp for the chocolate bar, I measured the length of the bar and cut my designer paper at this measurement out of a 12 x 12 paper. Then, I carefully wrapped the dsp around the bar, finger creasing at the sides (the Lindt bars have about 1/4 inch sides on the box) and then made a mark where I wanted to cut the dsp for width. This way, the dsp is sure to fit around the bar with a comfortable overlap. Sticky strip was then applied to the length of the paper and adhered. Very simple!

We are finally experiencing some warmer weather here in Alberta, thank goodness!!! I just hope it doesn't warm up too much, causing the snow to melt !~ Christmas without snow isn't quite the same to me. :-)
