Hi there! This card is for the sketch challenge on SCS found here

I love these challenges and was happy to be able to work on one today. I've been prepping for our Holiday Card Making Class this weekend. I can hardly wait, its always fun to get together with the girls to stamp!! :-)

This card features the little Penny Black mouse in his flying balloon basket, sending out a wealth of flowers to someone who needs them. :-) I've used a white card for the base along with Almost Amethyst, Basic Black, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink cardstock. The Designer paper is Tea Party. The image was cut out & matted with Nesties, and the sentiment is from an old old SU! set Mini Mates, I sure love all the words in this set, they are really versatile and work perfectly in punched out circles. The embellies are brads & ribbon from my stash.
I can't believe we are almost at the middle of August!! I am so excited, DD and I are going to pick raspberries and peas tomorrow at the local garden market!! There might even be some cucumbers ready, anyone got a fantastic garlic/dill pickle recipe they'd like to share? I always like to try something new. I think I'll do some pickled carrots as well. mmmmm!!
Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy your day :-)

Colour Throwdown & Sketch Challenge!

Good Morning! It seems to be a stamping kind of day as the weather really isn't very nice today, a little cloudy and certainly cooler than it should be for....the Season of Summer!! Yesterday marked the first day of Summer and I hope its going to be a great one! It can only get warmer from here, right?? :-) I'm sticking with that thought anyway!

Today's card is a submission for two sketches, K Werner's Colour Throwdown and Taylored Expression's Cupcake Challenge, both pictured above. I really love this colour combination, how beautiful & elegant.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you get a chance to play along with these challenges, they are both most inspiring!!

Hi there Blogger Friends! I squeezed in some time yesterday to participate in the Colour & Sketch Challenges on SCS. These colours are great together; however, I would have preferred a colour challenge with more spring like colours. These are perfect for a male birthday or Autumn card though.
This card was quick and easy, making full use of : designer paper, embossing folder & white daisy flowers. I found the center of this flower in my "stash" and thought it matched the Summer Sun cardstock very well.
Recipe:
Stamp Set: True Friend
Ink: Black StazOn
Cardstock: Kraft, Black, Summer Sun and Red Riding hood (designer paper Bella Rose)
Embellishments: Slit punch (for ribbon), Corner Ticket Punch, Black Polka Dotted Ribbon and Flower centre from my stash of collectibles!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
