Sunny Days, Happiness & Harmony!

Hi there! Just a super quick post, as we are filling the pool for the doggies. This will be Sophie's first time in the pool, so I want to get some pics.

I had the hardest time photographing this card! I think it took me longer to photo than it did to make the card! lol I'll be back with details later,
Thanks for stopping by!

Edited to Add!~
Hello, I'm Back! The Pups loved the pool, it cooled them off and they enjoyed splashing. For some reason, Tucker likes to dig in the pool, I'm not sure what he thinks he's going to find!!

This card's inspiration came from the latest Paper Creations, Summer 2009, page 66. I don't have either stamp set they used for their card but did find something in my "small collection" of stamps that fit the space :-) As well, I added green instead of gold for my 3rd colour choice. (I know, I know, white isn't a colour, but you know what I mean lol)

Recipe:
Stamp Set: Happy Harmony, SU! SAB set
Cardstock: Real Red, W. White, Gable Green
Ink: Black StazOn, Real Red, Green Galore ooh, some of my markers are in dire need of replacement, they have quite fuzzy tips so don't look too close at the leaves and small flowers!!
Accessories: Martha Stewart Border Punch (which, incidentaly, doesn't punch as smooth as the SU! ones), Half Back Pearls, Embossing Border, Green Polka Dot ribbon from my stash, Dazzling Diamonds
The half back pearls look larger than life in the picture, but trust me, they look nice in real life :-)

Beautiful Things....

Good Afternoon! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!! Today my card share is an image I collected while on my travels in BC, I believe, last summer.
I started this card a few months ago, if you can imagine!! It sat in a pile of "ufo's", as my friend Beth calls them ~ Unfinished Objects ~ !! I had the main image stamped and matted it onto the Old Olive, but the card just lacked something for me, so I set it aside.
Today while cleaning the stamp studio I looked at it and decided it needed some Dazzling Diamonds, a couple of flowers with brads and more matting. I matted it onto the Bashful Blue Designer Paper, then the black, and then onto a larger card, giving it the "frame" that I felt it needed to really show off the image.
Its a fairly clean lined card, yet does use some embellishments. The trend is for clean lined, quick & easy cards, but I still struggle with this concept, always wanting to add a ribbon, bow, brad or eyelet to my creation. Somehow at least one of those embellies manage to find their way onto my cards!!
I hope you like this card, I loved the colour combination, as its so calm and pretty, yet bold and striking all in one.
Have a great evening and hope your Hubby had a nice Father's Day!!! :-)

You Can Do It!!

Hi Blogger Friends! Another beautiful Autumn day out there, a bit chilly, but I guess that's to be expected! I love the crisp, clean scented air this time of year and really enjoy getting out each day and going for a walk.
My most wonderful friend Melody and I recently went to a Quilting & Craft Expo held in the city. There were the most amazing quilts, I just fell in love with them. Melody bought the most darling quilt kit, its going to be fantastic when she finishes it. :-) I bought a really neat purse pattern, along with the coolest apron pattern I've seen in awhile. I thought I'd make up some of these aprons for Christmas gifts, as no one ever has enough aprons!
There was also a booth with the most amazing deals on stamps, both sets and singles. We really didn't ask where he got them, or why they were so inexpensive (really cheap!!), we just bought some! I got this Stampendous stamp for $3.00 I made this card for someone who really needs a lift right now, I sure hope she likes it! :-)
I've used Chocolate chip, whisper white, and designer paper from several years ago (I know, what a "collector" I am!!) I just loved this particular sheet of designer paper, so I've been pretty chintzy in using it! I also used my rectangle nestabilities, and the white gel pen to jazz it up. I also used some chocolate chip grosgrain, and a cute flower from the Pretties kit, centering a half pearl in the middle.
Hope your day is going well and you get to enjoy the wonder of nature somewhere along the line today! :-)
Your Friend, Debbie
