Hi there! I know its been quite some time since I last posted. I have the same excuses as everyone else ~ life just gets so busy sometimes!! I've had alot of my plate lately, paperwork wise and its finally winding down! As well, I completely decluttered our home! What a job that has been, let me tell you. We went to the dump *several* times as well as Good Will. Marvelous feeling!! If you ever get a chance, please go straight to your nearest bookstore and purchase "Clearing Your Clutter" by Karen Kingstone. Its a very inspirational book!! You might be surprised to find yourself clearing out your home as well. :-)
For those of you who know me, I really enjoy watercolouring and putzing around with cards. The more involved the colouring the more I enjoy it. Especially when I have to create layers. I guess that's why I have such a hard time with quick and easy cards, they just don't seem challenging enough. Now that being said, I'm certainly no great artist at putting together a card either. As you can see from the card above I've left the design open rather than fill it up with scallops and ribbons. It just didn't seem right to add all that in. I have left the bottom left side open for my sentiment. I will most likely stamp a verse or sentiment and punch out with the small oval punch and mat it with the large oval punch. Its nice to have cards just waiting for any occasion sometimes! I also have to apologize for the quality of the picture! My memory card has 2 pictures left on it. As well, the card is a bit heavy right now because I haven't added my layers inside yet. Watercolour paper usually adds weight to a card so be sure to secure it with double sided tape instead of rolling adhesive. I learned that the hard way! :-) With a card like this I like to add a layer to the middle of the card, with perhaps some coordinating cardstock, a layer of designer paper and then a piece of white to write my sentiment. This helps balance the card's weight too.
We are off to Provincials this weekend so I won't be posting for a few days! Surprise surprise!! I hope you all are well and I'll be in touch next week regarding your SAB orders! :-)
Take care and thanks for stopping by!
